Request for Proposals: Special Education Capacity Building
The South Carolina Public Charter School District (SCPCSD) is a local education agency and statewide authorizer of charter schools committed to access, equity, and academic excellence for all students. The SCPCSD is seeking an experienced vendor to work with four charter schools in the Greenville and Columbia area, to create a model program, including guidelines, resources, and professional development with the goal of building each school’s capacity to successfully serve and support students with disabilities. In addition, this program must also build capacity to develop positive behavioral supports and interventions. The provider will facilitate a collaborative program design as well as training sessions for school leaders, school coordinators, teachers, and/or deans of discipline to increase staff capacity to work with students with disabilities, particularly those with behavior needs to produce improved outcomes as measured by an increase in scores on the District’s Comprehensive Review Program (CPR) and a decrease in discipline referrals for students with disabilities.
