Step 1

Letter of Intent

2019 Letter of Intent (for schools planning to open in 2020-2021) must be submitted to the South Carolina Public Charter School District as the charter school sponsor by November 3, 2018 for applicants seeking to open in the 2019-2020 school year.

 

*Please note: the SC Department of Education (SCDE) will be releasing an electronic dashboard to submit all application materials, including Letters of Intent. The SCDE has not yet released the platform. If you have any questions please contact Catherine Watt, Director of Charter Development, at cwatt@sccharter.org.

Applications will not be accepted before January 25, 2019 or after 5:00pm on February 1, 2019. 

 

Below you’ll find hard copies of the 2019 Charter School Application, the Letter of Intent, the Signature Certification Page and the Student Enrollment Projection form. The SCDE has not yet published the Application Rubric.

Evaluation

Once the application is submitted, the SCPCSD Board of Trustees must hold a public hearing within 90 days to determine whether or not the group will be granted a charter.

*2019 evaluation rubric has not yet been released by the SCDE. SCDE charter application rubric coming soon.
