Transparency Reports

In keeping with South Carolina law, The South Carolina Public Charter School District is posting non-salary expenditures statements each month. We intend to have these online records available for five (5) years.

All expenditures made on the transparency reports are paid using the fifteen (15) digit account structure as established by the South Carolina Department of Education. The first three (3) digits indicated the source of funds used. The District receives State and Federal dollars. No local taxes are levied in support of the Public Charter School District. A number beginning in 1 is General State Appropriations, beginning in 2 is Federal dollars and beginning in 3 represents 100 percent State dollars supplied by specific State sources.

The second set of three (3) digits represents the function of the expenditure. This is the office in the District Office that is making the expenditure. The third set of three (3) digits is called the object of expenditure. This third set would be travel, supplies, dues and fees, equipment, etc.

The remaining six (6) digits represent the ability to charge by area such as math or language arts with the last two (2) digits representing the location. Being a Public Charter School District, all monies flow through the District to the Charter Schools of the District and local boards determine the way funds are allocated.

This report is intended to provide the expenditures of the District Office and indicates payments made to the individual schools. The law requires listing of all expenditures in excess of $100 but the South Carolina Public Charter School District is including all so checks will be listed in sequential order. Any questions or concerns can be forwarded to the District.
