Submit a simple letter indicating your intent to open a charter school with the South Carolina Public Charter School District.
All charter proposals this cycle must be submitted electronically via the SCDE’s online application. The SCDE will conduct a training session on the submission process for all applicants. For questions, please contact Kayla Audette at the SCDE at email@example.com or 803.734.2781. All applications are due no later than 5:00 p.m. on February 1, 2019. The SCPCSD requires the completion of additional documentation as part of your application. Please see below under What You’ll Need To Submit for more details.
Once the application is submitted, the SCPCSD Board of Trustees must hold a public hearing within 90 days to determine whether or not the group will be granted a charter.
Please note that the following documentation will be housed in the SCDE online application for completion. You will need to complete all forms that apply to your model. Please ensure that you select the SCPCSD as your authorizer at the top of the application in order to access these forms.
Please be reminded that all applications must be submitted electronically through the SCDE online portal. However, after you submit to the SCDE, the SCPCSD is requesting that all applicants also download their full application to a Google Drive or Dropbox in a neatly organized format including the Table of Contents and all Appendices and email the link with your application to firstname.lastname@example.org. This copy of your application is also due by 5 p.m. on February 1, 2019. We will confirm receipt of your submission via email.
